You’re Thankful for WHAT?

Nov 20

Quick!

Think of 10 things you’re thankful for even in this tumultuous year of 2018.

If you can’t think of anything, feel free to steal from my list:

1) You don’t have to cook. Oh wait, you are cooking. Go immediately to 2).

Pass the gravy and collect 200 leftovers.

2) Drunk Uncle is not coming to dinner  because he’s mad at someone in the family for their political views. He’s can’t remember who or what. And that’s fine with us.

3) The Simpsons: The idea that something this clever exists in these dumbed-down times gives one hope.

4) That Mallomars not only exist, but actually have a season (they melt in the summer so stores don’t stock them). And this is the season.

5) The cold open of SNL when they nail it.

6) Google/YouTube/Your Smartphone. You don’t really have to know anything anymore because you can look it up.

7) Books, because maybe it would be nice to know something once in a while. Ya think?

8) Martinis. Just. Because.

9) Netflix (For maximum thankfulness combine #8 and #9.)

10) And finally . . . Our southern border hasn’t been invaded by that caravan of leprosy-infected lowlifes we feared, and the troops are coming home for Christmas!

WHY STOP AT TEN?

Got anything to add?

  1. I don’t care for mallomars or Martin’s, but I love Pat for creating this list.
Most of all, I’m thankful for you!

    • Although I cannot truly understand not loving either Mallomars or Martinis, I totally forgive you for this one teeny little flaw in your character and love having you in my life. And on my blog.

  2. I’m thankful that blogging still continues in this day of Facebook failed smartphones.

    • You and I started blogging around the same time but you’ve been doing it all along, whereas I took a 3-year hiatus. It’s nice to be back, and I’m grateful for your all your comments. Have a great Thanksgiving.

I love your humor. Keep it up!

    • I will! It’s what keeps me sane, or at least not totally off the wall. And for that, I am truly thankful.

  4. Oh! And I just thought of a VERY important thing to be thankful for.
It’s official: right now it’s healthier to eat pumpkin pie than romaine lettuce.
    How sweet it is.
